Feeling Unsure?
Most people come to us with a room or home they do not like and no vocabulary for why. That is a normal starting point.
The first conversation is about the space, how you live in it, and what you would like it to become — not about picking paint colors or finishes.

What Happens Next
01
A first call
Complimentary, and usually about twenty minutes. We talk through your ideas, your goals, your budget, your timing and what a dream space means to you.
02
Short questionnaire
Sent before we meet, so we arrive understanding how you actually live and what you already love.
03
The initial consultation
We walk the space, clarify function and aesthetic, and discuss scope, budget and the right level of collaboration. A written proposal follows.
“What we liked the most about working with Sandra at Couture Haus was that she was completely focused on understanding and delivering OUR VISION. She incorporated the elements and items that we wanted to keep into a beautiful, new, and creative design.
We were under a tight schedule, and Sandra very quickly and efficiently assembled many options for us to choose from. This saved us a significant amount of time and anxiety, as we couldn’t have met our schedule and budget without her help. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her as she was engaging, flexible, upbeat, pragmatic, and professional. She will be our first choice for any future projects.”

Before You Write
A few things people ask.
What happens in an interior design consultation?
The first call covers your ideas, your goals and what a dream space means to you. A short questionnaire follows so we understand how you live and what you love. The initial consultation then walks through your vision for the space, clarifies function and aesthetic, and covers scope, budget and the right level of collaboration. A written proposal scoping design hours and tasks follows from there.
How much does a consultation cost?
The first call is complimentary. The initial consultation is a paid appointment, and the fee is credited against the project if you proceed. Design hours for the project itself are scoped against your actual brief and presented as a fixed proposal before any work begins.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Raleigh and work throughout North Carolina — including Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary and Wake County — and take projects beyond the state and country. Travel and coordination for out-of-area work are scoped in the proposal.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the studio’s current commitments and the size of the project. Design development typically begins within a few weeks of a signed agreement. If you are building or renovating, make contact early — before plans are final, or before demolition — because that is when design decisions cost the least.
Do you take single rooms?
Yes. A single kitchen, bath or family room receives the same process and the same level of detail as a full home. Some clients begin with one room and expand from there.
